The Centers for Family Success – Parenting Inside Out
The Centers for Family Success are community resource facilities located in the St. Johns neighborhood of Portland, OR and the Rockwood neighborhood of Gresham, OR. Functioning as hubs for educational opportunities, social support and positive family activities for children whose parents are involved in the criminal justice system, their families and caregivers. Serving through parent education, advocacy, and development of community partnerships, opportunities are created for these families to link to resources, experience coached family time, enhance life skills, and develop positive social networks to build family success. Programs include Parenting Inside Out, a skills training program for parents with a connection to the criminal justice system.
Parenting Inside Out is an evidence–based parenting skills training program for justice involved parents. Participants primarily include parents who have open child-protective cases with the Department of Human Services. Consisting of 48 hours of instruction, 24 sessions in 12 weeks, curriculum includes:

- Child Development
- Healthy Families
- Nurturing Your Child’s Individuality
- Child Guidance
- Your Life in the Community
Prison version available for incarcerated mothers and fathers and a Community version for parents on parole or probation.
